A COMMITTMENT TO EXCELLENCE
From Our Family To Yours
Brian & Vickie Runk and Dr. Norman & Linda Pratt share a rich and successful history of operating senior living communities in Lynchburg, Forest, and Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia. Rooted in faith, their commitment to excellence and the care of loved ones has transformed the landscape of senior care in the greater Lynchburg area. Brian and Vickie met while Vickie was an undergraduate student studying Psychology at Liberty University and Brian was completing his MBA at Lynchburg College. Vickie began her career in social work and found she had a fondness caring for her elderly clients, wishing she could do more to assure they were healthy and happy. She and Brian started dreaming of starting a home for this under-served community. Vickie’s father, Dr. Pratt, who served as an Air Force chaplain and later became a long-term care administrator, and his wife, Linda, joined Brian and Vickie on their mission to create a loving, healthy environments in which seniors could thrive.
“We see your family as our family – someone whom we are able to love and encourage,” says Vickie Runk. “Someone whom we are able to empower to be the best and most capable person they can be.”
Runk & Pratt’s humble beginnings in 1992 in Spout Spring, VA.
In 1992, they began pursuing this vision by opening a small facility named Spout Spring Home for Adults. As opportunities arose, they expanded the company and opened newer and larger facilities with more comprehensive care. Today, thousands of families have benefitted from this decision to serve where and as needed. Now joined in their efforts by their two oldest children, Chris and Caitlyn Runk, the entire family continues their commitment to superior individual care ranging from assisted living and independent living, to residential care and memory support. They have and will continue to actively pursue the best and most effective care strategies for you and your loved ones for decades to come.
OUR SENIOR LIVING
Communities
At Runk & Pratt, our residents are family. As family, we not only value their input for the future, but we also value the important milestones in their past that constitute who they are today. We understand the importance of experiencing life to its fullest. Because of this, our locations are more than buildings – more than facilities. They are communities.
